5 Ways To Stay Young And Beautiful For Longer

It’s only natural for mature men and women to want to look youthful for a longer period of time. With the advent of researches and studies pertaining to slowing down the process of aging, I have compiled a list of simple rules that we can follow to halt the hands of time.

1. Fight stress

According to recent studies, stress can speed up skin aging. Beating deadlines, financial problems, lack of exercise and unhealthy diet are just some of the common stressors that can cause a string of negative health blows like insomnia, weight gain, impaired immune system which lead to faster biological aging. According to a 2005 study conducted at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, age-related changes in the brain can be prevented by practicing meditation 10 to 20 minutes daily. Meditation can provide you with a sense of peace and calm which can greatly reduce stress more than any medicine could. Yoga, running and breathing exercises are just some of the meditation activities you can engage in.

Today, I’m going to share with you my favorite avocado face mask recipe. I love concocting avocado facial masks in general because of its hydrating and soothing properties that make the skin smoother, clearer and more radiant. Aside from avocado, the key ingredients in this beauty recipe are honey and Greek yogurt which aids in combatting breakouts and brightening up the complexion.

Beauty Tips & Tricks: How To Clean Your Makeup Brushes With Olive Oil and Baby Shampoo

I couldn’t emphasize better how important it is to wash make up brushes regularly. Cleaning makeup brushes is the best way to condition their bristles for smooth makeup application. It is also, the best way to extend their lives significantly. All kinds of cosmetic products, dead skin cells, sweat and oil easily clings to makeup brushes and if they are not cleaned, they instantly become a breeding ground for bacteria. Using a dirty makeup brush on your face can pose serious threats to your skin. I’m talking about acne and pimple breakouts, rashes, pore congestion – should I go on?

The easiest way to clean makeup brushes is to use commercial makeup brush cleansers. Most makeup brush cleansers can really burn a hole in your pocket so if you’re looking for a cheaper or a more affordable way of washing and caring your brushes, continue reading this post. Celebrating Van’s Birthday 2013: Penne Pasta in Drunken Red Wine Meat Sauce

So soon after the holidays come mine and Van’s birthdays – only a day apart. I know, bad news for any diet-related resolutions. We wanted to avoid another all-out party that will most likely wreck our already bedraggled finances and so decided to spend a quiet celebration by ourselves this year. But a birthday is not really complete without pasta and wine – or any intoxicating liquid for that matter! Since another resolution is to swear off alcoholic drinks for a while, the only recourse is to make the pasta – or sauce – drunk. Nice solution, right? So without further ado, my Penne Pasta in Drunken Red Wine Meat Sauce was born.

Celebrating the Holidays 2012: Hot and Spicy Spaghetti

Happy 2013! Yay! Couldn’t believe Christmas and the 1st day of the year have come and gone so quickly – not to mention the end of the world thingy that thankfully never happened! We’re still reeling from a severe case of holiday hangover so this post is waaaay overdue. Celebrating Christmas and New Year’s Eve has been a tradition that me and Van grew up with in our families. Now that we’re both a wee bit “mature” and are living with our horde of 6 adorable cats, we have continued that tradition every year. For the holidays, our Hot and Spicy Party Spaghetti took center stage. We accompanied it with a slow-cooked crispy roasted chicken, crispy pata (deep-fried pork hocks and knuckles), our trusted bistek and seafood sinigang, just to mix it up.
