The warmest season of the year is here and I thought it’s time for me to make some changes with my beauty routine with products that could withstand the summer heat.


I have just purchased a new tube of The Body Shop® Lip and Cheek stain last weekend to use for my upcoming outdoor activities (i.e. going to the beach, picnics) instead of my usual powder blushes. I have started using this product 7-8 summers ago and have become one of my favorite summer beauty products ever.

Its formula changed throughout the years but it can still deliver what it promised to do and that is to give a very natural looking blush. This one spreads smoothly and doesn’t dry easily which means you have more time to blend it evenly on your cheeks. I love the healthy, dewy effect it gives like I don’t wear any blush at all. The color is very buildable and can go very deep if you use a lot of the product. I use the doe foot applicator to dab the tint on my left index finger instead of dabbing it directly on moisturized cheeks to avoid contamination. This product also works great as a lip stain but make sure that you apply a lip balm after applying this to keep your lips moisturized. To be honest, I don’t really use this on my lips that much because I still prefer using lighter lip colors like nude or coral.

What I love the most about this product, and I guess I’m not alone here, is the lasting power. Reapplication is not necessary because it lasts all day.

Overall, The Body Shop Lip and Cheek stain is a great blush product. The fact that one can use it as a blusher and lip tint is brilliant so if you’re looking for a multi-tasking product, you should definitely get this. The 8ml tube lasts me about 3-4 months of regular use over the course of summer. The packaging is very travel friendly and easy to use too. I will never be without this for more summer seasons to come.

Marks & Spencer’s Azure Breeze holds a very universal scent. It’s a beautiful and clean summer perfume which I find incredibly easy on the nose. This will totally appeal to citrus lovers because of its delicious lemon notes.

I’ve heard a lot of people say that this little darling smells like Light Blue by D&G and I Love Love by Moschino. My partner used to own the former and I kind of agree that they do have similarities but I must say that Azure Breeze has a distinct smell of its own. It gives fresh, fruity finish while Light Blue is musky and a little powdery – at least from what I can smell. I really can’t make a comparison with I Love Love since I haven’t had a smell of that yet.

I’m not the type of person who is very into perfumes because most of them makes me nauseous and gives me headache. Fortunately, this one doesn’t! The scent is very light and non invasive. It has become my go-to fragrance since I got this last summer. The lasting power is great since I only need to spray this once during the day. If you’re looking for a fresh and neat whiff without breaking your bank (see retail price below product description), then this is a total must try.

I purchased The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes palette 06 (Warm) back in 2008 and it became a staple in my make up bag ever since.

I am very happy with all the colors in this palette because I can practically use them all. I use the light colours (Marshmallow and Honeycomb) on my crease and as eyeshadow base. I also use them as highlight on the inner and outer corners of my eyes. On the other hand, I use the dark ones (Choco Chip and Dark Chocolate) on my lid when going for the subtle smokey eye effect.

The product is shimmery to brighten up your eyes in a very flattering way. It’s very easy to apply and highly buildable up to your preferred intensity. You can definitely pull off a natural look by simply applying them dry because it’s very sheer. If you want the colours to be more apparent, apply them with a damp eyeshadow brush.

The lasting power for me is above average so primer is not really a must. I love how cute and handy the packaging is.  However, I usually have a rubber band around its case to ensure it will be kept closed during travel which I hardly mind considering that it’s still very easy to bring anywhere. If you only want to use a color or two, you can just select which compact cubes to toss in your makeup bag.

I have had these for three years now and nearly wear them almost everyday but notice how much product I still have! I feel like I will have them forever and will not need to repurchase anytime soon. If in any case I run out of these and they’re still around, I will definitely repurchase.
