Sunny "Spiced" Up Egg |
Breakfast is one of the toughest meals of the day. It’s tough because I hate waking up and getting out of bed in the mornings! But hey, one of my saving graces is the sunny side up egg. Besides a clean, spotless kitchen and a cup of freshly brewed coffee, that is.
Well, I have taken the traditional sunny side up egg and did my own “spiced up” version. Heck, it wouldn’t be in this blog if it ain’t spicy, right? *wink*
Oh, and a bit of egg-tritious trivia for all of you: Eggs have recently been found to be a rich source of antioxidants. Add that to the fact that eggs are so loaded with protein, and you’ll never go wrong with a hearty egg breakfast!

A pinch of black pepper never hurt anyone |
Sunny “Spiced” Up Egg
· 2 Eggs
· A slab of Butter
· Crushed Red Pepper
· Black Pepper
· Sea Salt
1. Add the slab of butter to a small frying pan over medium heat until butter has melted.
2. Break the eggs into the frying pan.
3. Season the eggs with crushed red pepper and sea salt to taste.
4. Cook for as long as desired. (We want our eggs well-cooked and solid so I cooked them for about 3-5 minutes.)
May try that. I don't cook eggs in any form very often, but adding some spice never hurts.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried stirring a little mustard into the eggs when cooking them scrambled or in an omelet? Sounds weird, but tastes pretty good, actually.
Yup, spice never hurts. :) Actually, once you get used to adding spice, any dish without it seems kinda lacking.
ReplyDeleteHaven't tried cooking anything with mustard yet. Will try that with scrambled eggs. Have to swap my breakfast sunny side up for one this week. -[Zane]
